Tyreke Johnson (DB, Class of 2018)

Tyreke Johnson is a 6-foot-2 190 pound defensive back, wide receiver, and running back that preps at Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida (Class of 2018).  As a junior (2016) he had 32 tackles (18 solo), with two tackles for loss, a 39 yard pick six, and nine passes defended.  He also returned six punts for 42 yards and 11 kickoffs for 320 yards (29.1 avg) and a touchdown.  On offense he rushed nine times for 97 yards (10.8 avg) and a score, and he had two receptions for 68 yards (34.0 avg).  He was named to the All-State First-Team as well as an U.S. Army All-American.

Since Johnson started playing varsity as a 12-year-old seventh grader Johnson has amassed 116 tackles (76 solo), six tackles for loss, 28 passes defended, two fumble recoveries, a blocked field goal and nine interceptions, with five of them returned for touchdowns.

Johnson is rated 5-stars by Scout, Rivals, and 4-stars by ESPN (grade of 86).  He is rated the No. 1 safety and the No. 10 overall prospect by Rivals, the No. 9 overall prospect nationally by Scout, and he is No. 42 in the ESPN 300.  He has scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Connecticut, Duke, Florida, FAU, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Miami (FL), Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, South Florida, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, Utah, Vanderbilt, and Virginia Tech.  Front-runners are reportedly Florida, UCLA, Georgia, and Ohio State.  His older brother De’Andre is a quarterback for Florida Atlantic.
